Linwood, NJ - William Gormley, the Republican State Senator of New Jersey’s 2nd District, takes a moment to reflect on his career in public service on his last day in office. A powerful, colorful character known all over the state for his brash brand of politics, Gormley was an excellent advocate for the casino industry, which he helped to grow and prosper, along with his district. Often intimidating but rarely intimidated, Gormley’s interview (conducted at NBC 40’s Linwood studio) is complimented by some vintage moments from his past, in front of the microphones, where his playful actions contrast with his image as Atlantic County party boss.

Trenton, NJ - The Assembly State Government Committee listens to and votes on legislation, sponsored by Assemblyman Jim Whelan, that would limit the number of absentee ballots that could be handled by a designated messenger to only 10. The measure is designed to combat the alleged misuse of messenger ballots, and stop the potential voter fraud which has haunted Atlantic County elections for years.
